Thane: After the visit of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to Ayodhya, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has said that Congress people will soon go to Ayodhya. He has also been called by the mahants there. Nana claimed that the Congress has more authority over the Ramlala temple in Ayodhya, as the lock of the temple was opened by the late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and he also performed the Bhumi Pujan. Maharashtra Congress Committee’s extended executive committee meeting was held at Gadkari Rangayatan Auditorium in Thane on Monday. In the press conference held after the meeting, Patole slammed the Shinde-Fadnavis government. Patole said that on one side farmers in the state are troubled by unseasonal rains, while on the other hand Shinde-Fadnavis go to Ayodhya with fanfare as if they have gone to attack Pakistan. The state government is looting the public. She is spending unnecessarily. With this she will make the state a beggar.

On the beautification work being done in Thane city, Shinde’s home constituency, Patole said that Rs 4.50 crore has been spent on the work which was supposed to cost Rs 50 to 60 crore. If this is not loot of public money then what is? He termed outsourcing as unconstitutional.

‘BJP is dreaming of Mungerilal’

On the possibility of some MLAs of Mahavikas Aghadi going to BJP, Patole said that like Karnataka, the situation is going to happen in Maharashtra too. Today BJP does not have the courage to contest elections in Karnataka. BJP is dreaming of Mungerilal. Aghadi MLAs are united.

‘Now farmers will not be misled’

Patole blamed the central government for the suicides of farmers in the state. He said that 21 thousand farmers committed suicide in the last 8 to 9 years. The government has left the farmers on their own. The farmers are badly troubled. Now farmers will not come under the guise of BJP.

‘Government has no control over administration’

Patole said that law and order has broken down in the state. The government has no control over the administration. Thane district president Vikrant Chavan received threats. The Congress worker was beaten up. There was a fatal attack on Roshni Shinde. The police did not even take the complaint. In Thane, the home constituency of the Chief Minister, law and order has completely broken down.

‘The real face has come to the fore’

Patole has attacked the Modi government at the Centre. He said that inflation has increased in the country. Due to the high cost of medicines, the poor will not be able to bear the cost of treatment. He criticized that the real face of the government has come in front of the public.

‘Congress will stand again in Thane’

Given the increasing political importance of Thane in the state politics, Congress has focused on Thane district after Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP. Posters and banners of the meeting were put up across the city. The way the constituents of Mahavikas Aghadi are aggressive after the change of power in the state, this meeting can prove to be a lifeline in the direction of reviving the Congress. Patole said that Thane district was a stronghold of the Congress. Congress will again stand strong here.
