When the government took cognizance, these Indian apps came on the Play Store again.

Google Play Store: Yesterday, Google took strict action against some Indian app developers and removed them from Android Play Store. Actually, Google had said that ten apps from India do not follow the billing policy of Play Store, and hence they have been removed from Google Play Store. Now the Government of India has also intervened in this matter. The government has called Google for a meeting to find a solution to this problem.

Government adopted a tough stance

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government strongly opposes delisting of apps and will not allow this to happen. PTI has given information in its report quoting Vaishnav that, “The government has taken a tough stance on Google removing some apps from the Play Store. We will not allow apps to be delisted.”

After issuing a blog post, Google removed popular apps of 10 Indian companies from the Play Store from March 1, 2024. These apps include the names of many popular apps of India including matrimony apps. Google had removed Kuku FM, Bharat Matrimony, Shaadi.com, Naukri.com, 99 acres, Truly Madly, Quack Quack, Stage, ALTT (Alt Balaji) from the Play Store.

Many apps returned

However, after the reaction of the Government of India, some apps are visible again on the Play Store. When we checked all these apps that were removed from Google Play Store till the time of writing this news, we found that the apps of Shaadi.com, Naukri.Com and 99acers have been listed again on the Play Store, while all the other apps are still listed. are not available on Google Play Store till now.

Many of the Info Edge apps are back on the play store. An effort very well led by Hitesh and the entire Info Edge team. People were up all night for this. Great crisis management https://t.co/2VbI0JmHuY
